How it's made
How We Press
Eight steps. No shortcuts.
Cold-pressing is slower and yields less oil per kilogram than solvent extraction. That's why most commercial oil isn't made this way. Here's exactly what we do instead.
- 01
Seed selection
We source oil seeds directly from farmers in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. Every batch is checked for moisture content and quality before acceptance. We don't buy seeds on commodity markets — direct relationships mean we know exactly where each batch came from.

Sun drying
Seeds are spread on clean jute mats and sun-dried for 2–3 days to reduce moisture to the optimal level. Lower moisture means better oil yield and longer shelf life without any preservatives.

Wooden ghani pressing
We press in traditional wooden ghanis — cylindrical wooden presses that rotate slowly, typically at 8–12 RPM. The low speed generates very little heat (under 40°C), which is what 'cold-pressed' means. The oil is squeezed out mechanically, nothing added, nothing taken away.

Natural gravity settling
Freshly pressed oil is cloudy with fine seed particles. We let it settle in sealed containers by gravity for 24–48 hours. No centrifuge, no filter press — just patience. The result is a naturally clear oil with all its nutrients intact.

Quality testing
Every batch is tested for free fatty acid content and peroxide value — two indicators of oil quality and freshness. We only bottle batches that meet our internal standards. Lab certificates are available on request.

Bottling
Oil is hand-filled into food-grade bottles in a clean-room environment. We use dark amber glass or UV-blocking HDPE to protect against light degradation. Each bottle is sealed and labelled with the batch number and pressing date.

Packed and shipped
Orders are packed within 24 hours of being placed and shipped via surface courier to anywhere in India. Most customers receive their order within 3–5 days. We pack carefully — oils are heavy and glass is fragile.
